1. How long will it take for me
to download barablu?
It will take approx 5 minutes to
download the barablu Dialler.
2. What will it cost me to call
other barablu users?
You can call other barablu users from
your PC for free on their PC/Mobile or Broadband phone.
3. What system requirements do I
need in order to use barablu?
The
minimum system requirements are:
PC running Windows 98, 2000, XP or
Vista
400MHz processor
128 MB RAM
5 MB free disk space on your hard
drive
Sound Card, speakers and
microphone
Internet connection (dial up: minimum
30 kbps modem, or any broadband: cable, DSL etc)
To achieve the best results barablu recommends the following
configuration:
PC running Windows 2000, XP or
Vista
1 Ghz processor
256 MB RAM
30 MB free space on your hard
drive
Full duplex sound card (most sound
cards made after 1998), and headset.
Cable, DSL or equivalent broadband
connection to Internet.
4. Why do I need to sign up?
You need to sign-up to be able to log
into barablu. Signing up will give you all the benefits of being a
barablu user. Once you have completed the registration you will be
prompted to create a username and password. Once you have completed
this section you will be able to log in to the website and the
dialler.
5. How will I know which of my
contacts are online?
A small barablu icon will be
displayed next to each of the contacts in your contact list. The
display colour of the icon communicated the status of that
contact:
Green: Online 
Red: Busy 
Yellow: Away
Grey: Offline
6. Can I change my online status?
Yes you can change your online status
from barablu at any time. On the top of the application
next to your image you can select your status from the pull down
menu. You can even change your status from the chat window and the
profile window that comes up when you select a contact from your
list
7. I am already a barablu user do I still need to sign up?
If you are already a barablu user
then you can simply close the registration window and you will be
directed to the login box. Just enter your username and password to
log in to the dialler.
8. I have forgotten my password.
If you have forgotten your password,
you need to go to the barablu website and click on Forgotten Password. You will be asked your email
address, and your password will be sent to that address.
Unfortunately due to security reason
we are unable to supply you a username associated with a specific
password. Therefore, if you really can't remember your username, we
suggest you open a new account.
9. What happens if someone calls me when I am on another call?
Voicemail is free with barablu and
you don't have to activate anything. When you are on a call, all
other incoming calls will automatically be diverted to
voicemail.

10. Can I call emergency numbers (911, 999, 112)?
No. You cannot make calls to
emergency services with barablu. We suggest you use a landline or
mobile phone to make these calls.
11. Will missed calls be displayed?
Yes, once you login, your missed
calls will be displayed in the message panel just below your
account information.
12. How can I chat with my contacts?
You can exchange instant messages
(chat) with any of your barablu contacts that are online. You can
also chat free with the contacts you import from your Skype, Google
Talk, Yahoo!, and Windows Live Messenger friends.
To start a new chat open the Contacts
tab and select the contact you want to chat with. A pop up window
will open. Select the chat option from this window and a separate
chat window will open. Type your message and send. The message will
display in the chat window after your name. Any responses received
will be displayed after your contact's display name. You can
continue to exchange instant messages as long as both users remain
online. It is also possible to send offline messages to contacts
that are not currently signed in. They will not respond to you in
real time but will receive these messages the next time they sign
in.
13. How do I check my call history?
To view your call history, log
into you're barablu account and
choose the Call History tab from the navigation bar.
barablu call records are updated in
real time. That means that your call details will be updated when
your call ends.
14. How long will my balance be active for?
barablu credit expires 180 days after
your first usage, so make sure you make a call at least once during
that period. Alternatively to keep your account active you
must add more credit once every 180 days.
15. How do I check the balance in my account?
To view your balance you need to
select the My Account Information under the barablu tab from the
application.
16. Will the person I call know if I am calling from a PC, mobile,
or IP phone?
If you call a standard landline or mobile the person receiving
the call will not know where you are calling from.
However, if you call another online
user they will be able to see if you are calling from your PC or
mobile.
17. What numbers will the person
receiving the call see?
Depending on the network provider the
number will either be shown as private (hidden) or normal barablu
registered numbers.
18. How much will it cost me to call non-barablu friends?
To call your non-barablu friends you
need to have credit in your barablu account. With
barablu you can call your friends outside the barablu network
on their regular landline and mobile numbers. View our rates

19. How can I receive a call on my PC?
Simply sign in to your barablu
account. Once you are signed in and online an alert box will pop up
on your screen when someone calls you and it will give you the
option to either answer or reject the call.
20. When I receive a call what name will be displayed?
If the person calling you is listed
in your contacts then the name of the person will be displayed.
21. I am unable to hear anything when using the service from
my PC, what is wrong?
Firstly check that your computer is
connected to a headset or speaker and microphone. Check your sound
settings. If this has not resolved your problem then try again a
few minutes. It may just be a temporary issue.
22. I am unable to call a landline or mobile?
If you are unable to call a landline
or mobile number we suggest you check your account balance by
clicking on My Account Information under the barablu tab on the
dialler. To make a call to a regular landline or mobile you need to
have credit in your barablu account and you must have enough credit
to make a 1-minute call to the desired destination. View barablu

If your account balance is
sufficient, then you need to check the format of the number you are
dialling. The number you are calling should be entered in the
format of "00" "country code" " area code" " number". This applies
to both international and local calls. You do not need to add a '+'
sign before the number.
23. What is the global directory?
Global directory is a place to find
all other barablu users. Through the global directory you will be
able to find details such as name, language, country, town, barablu
username, gender and age group of other barablu users. You can
search for contacts on the global directory too. Once you have
found a contact you can add them to your list by sending an email
automatically to that contact. They can either accept or decline
your invitation.
By default your profile will be
hidden. If you wish to publish your profile on the global
directory, you can do so by logging on to the website and
change the status on the personal
information page.
24. I am unable to find my friend on the global directory although
she is a barablu user.
It might be that your friend didn't
enable the option to be listed on the global directory when she
signed up. By default the profile will be hidden. To enable
the profile, your friend needs to log in to the barablu account
from the website and enable this option from the Personal information page.
25. I can view my friend on the global directory but I am unable to
add her to my contacts.
If you are unable to send an email to
add your friend to your contact list then this is because your
friend has not saved her email address at the time of registering
for the dialler. You need to ask your friend to enter their email
address on the personal information page
after logging into the barablu account from the website.
26. I am unable to send an email to my friend even though she
has saved her email address
It is likely that your login session
would have expired if you have the contact window open for sometime
before clicking on Add Contact. Email will not be sent if the
session has expired. We suggest you close all windows, log out of
the dialler. Log in again and then trying adding your contact.
27. How do I uninstall barablu?
To uninstall barablu from your
computer, click on the Start button. From the control Panel, select
Programs> barablu Dialler > Uninstall. A grey box will appear
on the screen. You need to click on the Uninstall button in order
to remove the program from your computer. Once the uninstallion is
completed, you need to click on the Close button in order to close
the uninstallation window. This will remove the dialler and the
related applications from your computer.
