File Transfer
1.What is File Transfer?
File transfer enables you to send and
receive files from your barablu contacts.
2.How do I do a file transfer?
To make a file transfer you need to
select the barablu contact you want to send a file to. Click on the
file transfer icon or select “menu” and choose “send file”. Browse
and select the file you wish to send and wait for the contact to
accept file. Once your barablu contact has accepted the transfer
will begin.
3. My file transfer is slow.
What's wrong?
The speed of the file transfer depends on the
bandwidth available to both the sending and receiving party.
Internet congestion can also cause file speeds to decrease. If your
transfer is relayed, your file transfer speed will also be
limited.
4. Why
is my File Transfer so slow?
There are several
possible reasons why your file transfer speed is slow. Relayed
transfers usually have a slower speed than direct connections. The
speed can also be dependent on the bandwidth available (up/down) to
the sender/recipient of the file. If either party is using other
applications which take up bandwidth, this will also slow the
transfer. If you are running other programs which use your
bandwidth, such as email, web browser, etc. these will affect
transfer speed as well.
5. What
is a relayed transfer?
A relayed transfer
means that you are unable to make a direct connection to the other
party because of your firewall or NAT (Network Address Translation
/ router) configuration or that of the remote party. In this case,
the file transfer is relayed though other peers on the
network.
