Barablu on your IP phone

 

1. What is broadband telephony?

 

Broadband telephony allows you to get the most out of your phone and broadband Internet service; you are no longer restricted to the traditional phone line.

 

2. How do I subscribe for the service?

 

If you are a new user you need to Sign-Up for barablu Broadband Telephony from the website. This will take less than 5 minutes of your time and you will be given a username, password and a barablu number for free to keep you connected to all other barablu users.

 

3.How do I connect my IP phone?

 

To get broadband telephony you need a high-speed Internet connection, along with a phone connected to the Internet via a router/modem. Please refer barablu Broadband Telephony on how to connect to the Internet.

 

4. How much will it cost me to call?

 

Calling other barablu users on their Mobile, PCs or IP phones will be free. If you call anyone who is not on barablu you will need to use barablu Out. You just need to top-up your barablu Account and start making calls to regular landlines or mobile. barablu Out gives you very competitive rates to various destinations around the world.

 

5. Will barablu provide me with any hardware needed for Broadband?

 

No, barablu will not provide you with any equipment for Broadband. You can easily buy the required equipment from any electronic retailer. barablu only provides you with the service.

 

6. What is my number?

 

my number is a number, which allows anyone, from anywhere to call you on that number. It is a number for your barablu account. You can buy a my number for UK and USA from the barablu website. You can buy as many 'my numbers' as you desire. The minimum subscription period is 12 months. Your contacts outside barablu network can call you on this number from a regular landline or mobile. Whereas your barablu contacts can call you for free on this number from their PCs, Mobiles or IP phones. You can also save a great deal on roaming charges by subscribing to a my number. The next time you are abroad you just need to log in to the dialler to receive calls.

 

7.What are your available area codes?

 

You can buy a my number for UK and USA.

 

8.I live in the UK but can I buy a my number for France?

 

To buy the my number of a particular number you do not need to reside in that country. You can live in the UK and can still buy a my number for USA or UK.

 

9.Will it cost me anything to receive calls?

 

It wont cost you anything to receive calls; the only purchase you need to make is my number. my number is needed to receive calls.

 

10.What plans do you offer?

 

barablu does not offer any plans. You just have a prepaid account which you need to top-up for a minimum of £10 / $10 / € 10 to use various services like barablu Out, divert calls to regular landlines/mobiles etc.

 

11.How do I call other barablu users?

 

When you sign up for barablu broadband telephony you will get a barablu number for free. To call other barablu users you need to dial their barablu number and the call will be connected to their PC, Mobile or IP phones. If the call is not answered or if the person you are trying to call is busy on another call then your call will be diverted to voicemail.

 

12.Can I call a PC from my broadband telephone?

 

Yes. From your broadband phone you can call other barablu users on their PCs, mobiles or IP phones.

 

13.Why do I need to top up my account?

 

To call anyone who is not using barablu on their regular landline or mobile you need to use barablu Out for which you need to top-up your account. The account can be topped up in GBP, USD or Euros; the minimum is 10 of any currency. Apart from this you also need to top-up your account if you wish to divert your incoming calls to a regular landline or mobile outside the barablu network at a nominal cost.

 

14.Can I receive calls without topping up my account?

 

Yes, you will still be able to receive calls from all barablu users without topping up your account. To receive calls from people outside the barablu Network you don’t need to top-up your account but need to subscribe for my number.

 

15.How do the call charges compare to my normal phone service provider?

 

Calling anyone also using barablu will be free of charge. Calling anyone outside the barablu network will incur a charge but it will be a lot lower than your normal phone provider. Check barablu Out rates now!

 

16.I am unable to make a call using barablu Out.

 

Firstly, check that you have enough credit in your account to make an outgoing call. You must have sufficient balance to make a 1-minute call. If you need to top up your balance then login to the dialler and click on top up, from there you will be able to top up your account. If you have enough credit, it may just be a temporary issue. Please try calling again later.

 

17.Can I use my IP phone to call emergency numbers?

 

barablu is not a telephony replacement service. You cannot make calls to emergency services with barablu. We suggest you use a regular landline or mobile phone to make calls to emergency numbers.

 

18.All my calls are being diverted to voicemail.

 

To change the diversion settings, you can either click on Voicemail options from the dialler or simply log in to the website with your username and password and go to Diversion Options to change the settings.
