1.How long will it take for me to
download barablu?
2.What will it cost me to
call other barablu users?
You can call other barablu users
from your MAC for free on their MAC/PC/Mobile or Broadband
phone.
3.What system requirements do I
need in order to use barablu?
To ensure that your
barablu for MAC works really well, you need:
· Mac computer with Intel
Processor
· Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger or
later
· 512 MB RAM
· 40 MB free disk space on your
hard drive
· Microphone and speakers or
headset
· Internet connection
(broadband is best, GPRS is not supported for voice calls)
4.Why do I need to sign
up?
You need to sign-up to be able to
log in to the dialler. Signing up will give you all the benefits of
being a barablu user. Once you have completed the registration you
will be prompted to create a username and
password. Once you have completed this section you
will be able to log in to the website and the dialler.
5.How will I know which
of my contacts are online?
A small barablu icon will be
displayed next to each of the contacts in your contact list. The
display colour of the icon communicated the status of that
contact:
Green: Online
Red: Busy
Yellow: Away
Grey: Offline
6.Can I change my online
status?
Yes you can change your online
status from the dialler at any time. On the top of the dialler next
to your image you can select your status from the pull down menu.
You can even change your status from the chat window and the
profile window that comes up when you select a contact from your
list.
7.I am already a barablu
user do I still need to sign up?
If you are already a barablu user
then you can simply close the registration window and you will be
directed to the login box. Just enter your username and password to
log in to the dialler.
8.I have forgotten my
Password.
If you have forgotten your password,
you need to go to the barablu website. Enter your email address,
and your password will be sent to that address.
9.What happens if someone
calls me when I am on another call?
When you are on a call, all other incoming calls will
automatically be diverted to voicemail.
You can also divert all your incoming calls to a regular
landline or mobile phone number for a small charge. To change your
call divert settings select Call forwarding Option from the
Preferences menu.
10.Can I call emergency numbers
(911, 999, 112)?.
You
cannot make calls to emergency services with barablu. We suggest
you use a landline or mobile phone to make these calls.
11.Will missed calls be
displayed?
Yes, once you log in, your missed
calls will be displayed.
12.How can I chat with my
contacts?
You can exchange instant messages
(chat) with any of your barablu contacts that are online. You can
also chat free with the contacts you import from your Skype, Google
Talk, Yahoo!, and Windows Live Messenger friends.
To start a new chat open the
Contacts tab and select the contact you want to chat with. The
contact card window will open. Select the chat option from this
window and a separate chat window will open. Type your message and
send. The message will display in the chat window after your name.
Any responses received will be displayed after your contact's
display name. You can continue to exchange instant messages as long
as both users remain online. It is also possible to send offline
messages to contacts that are not currently signed in. They will
not respond to you in real time but will receive these messages the
next time they sign in.
13.How do I check my call
history?
To view your call history, select
the History Tab option from the barablu screen. Alternatively, you
can log in to you're My barablu account and choose the Call History
link from the navigation bar on the right-hand side of your
screen.
Barablu History Tab is updated in
real time. That means that your call details will be updated when
your call ends.
14.How long will my
balance be active for?
barablu credit expires 180 days after your first usage, so make
sure you use barablu Out and other services frequently.
Alternatively to keep your account active you must top up once in
every 180 days.
15.How do I check the balance in
my account?
To view your balance you need to select the My Account
Information under the barablu tab from the dialler.
16.What numbers will the person
receiving the call see?
Depending on the network provider
the number will either be shown as private (hidden) or normal
barablu registered numbers.
17.Will the person I call
know if I am calling from a Mac, mobile, or IP phone?
If you call a standard landline or
mobile the person receiving the call will not know where you are
calling from.
However, if you call another online
user they will be able to see if you are calling from your Mac or
mobile.
18.How much will it cost
me to call non-barablu friends?
To call your non-barablu friends you
need to have credit in your barablu Out account. With barablu Out
you can all your friends outside the barablu network on their
regular landline/mobile. To check the rates for barablu Out, select
the Check Rates for barablu Out under the Options tab on the
dialler. You can check the rates in USD, GBP and EURO.
19.How can I receive a
call on my Mac?
Simply sign in to your barablu
account. Once you are signed in and online an alert box will pop up
on your screen when someone calls you and it will give you the
option to either answer or reject the call. Easy as that!
20.When I receive a call what
name will be displayed?
If the person calling you is listed
in your contacts then the name of the person will be
displayed.
21.I am unable to hear anything
when using the service from my PC, what is wrong??
Firstly check that your Mac is
connected to a headset or speaker and microphone. Check your sound
settings. If this has not resolved your problem then try again a
few minutes. It may just be a temporary issue.
22.I am unable to call a landline
or mobile?
If you are unable to call a landline
or mobile number we suggest you check your account balance by
clicking on My Account Information under the
barablu tab on the dialler. To make a call to a regular landline or
mobile you need to have credit in your barablu Out account and you
must have enough credit to make a 1-minute call to the desired
destination. You can check the rates for barablu Out by going to
Check Rates for barablu Out under Options tab on
the dialler.
If your account balance is
sufficient, then you need to check the format of the number you are
dialling. The number you are calling should be entered in the
format of "00" "country code" " area code" " number". This applies
to both international and local calls. You do not need to add a '+'
sign before the number.
23.What is the global
directory?
Global Directory is a place to find
all other barablu users. Through the global directory you will be
able to find details such as name, language, country, town, barablu
username, gender and age group of other barablu users. You can
search for contacts on the global directory too. Once you have
found a contact you add them to your list by sending an email
automatically to that contact. They can either accept or decline
your invitation.
24.I am unable to find my
friend on the Global Directory although she is a barablu
user.
Your friend’s profile will
be able to view on the global directory only if she/he has enabled
this option at the time of registration.
25.Can I call barablu
users on PC or mobile?
Yes! Barablu is
interoperable across all supported platforms.
SMS Messages
26.Can I send SMS
Messages from Mac?
Yes! Go to Tools > SMS
and select the contact(s) you would like to send SMS to – Write
your SMS message in the message box below and when you are ready
click on “send”. Remember! In order to send SMS Messages you first
have to verify your mobile phone.
27.How do I verify my
mobile phone?
In order to Send SMS
Messages it is necessary to verify your mobile phone. Go to barablu
> Preferences > SMS Messages > Verify Mobile Phone Number
Now. Enter your mobile number and click “send”. Wait a few moments
and you will receive SMS with a code. Enter code in barablu and
click submit.
28.How much does it cost
to send SMS Message?
Barablu charges you £0.05,
€0.07, or $0.08 per SMS Message no matter which country you send
to.
29.How do I send SMS
Messages from MAC?
Go to Tools > SMS and
select the contact(s) you would like to send SMS to – Write your
SMS message in the message box below and when you are ready click
on “send”. Remember! In order to send SMS Messages you first have
to verify your mobile phone.
30.What number or name
will people receiving my SMS see?
Recipients of your SMS will
see the number you have verified.
31.Can I send SMS to any
number?
Yes! You can send an SMS to
any number. To send an SMS to a number that is not in your contacts
list just enter number below and remember to select the correct
dial code.
32.What is the limit of
an SMS Message?
Each SMS has a limit of 160
characters.

number?
A barablu online
number is an ordinary local fixed line number which will ring
into your barablu account whenever anyone calls you. You can
purchase a MyNumber from our webpage. With my number, your friends
can make international calls at local rate. If you choose a my
number in the same area code in which they live, all calls will
automatically be diverted to your barablu account..
34.How much does a
barablu online number cost?
barablu online
numbers for the UK are completely FREE!
numbers for the USA are
£16 for 12 months.
You can claim one UK number and maximum two US
numbers per user.
Group Chat
35.What is Group
Chat?
A Group Chat is a chat between 3 or
up to 49 barablu users.
36.Can I initiate a Group Chat
from Mac?
Yes! And you can add barablu users from any other barablu
platform, which support this feature.
37.How do I initiate a Group
Chat
Go to Tools and choose “Group Chat”
– Add the barablu contacts you wish and start the group chat. You
can also add new contacts at any time during a group chat or a
normal chat.
Conference Call
38.What is a
Conference Call?
A conference call is a call between 3 or up to 49
barablu users.
39.Can I initiate a Conference
Call from Mac?
Yes! And you can add barablu
users from any other barablu platform, which support this feature.
You can also add a non-barablu contact. Normal charging rates
apply.
40.How do I
initiate a Conference call?
Go To Tools and select
“Conference call”. Add the barablu contacts you wish to chat with.
Remember, you can also add a non-barablu participater by dialling a
number – This is charged at standard rates.
Call Forwarding
41.What is Call
Forwarding?
Call Forwarding allows you
to redirect incoming barablu calls to your mobile or landline
phone. This way, you will never have to miss a barablu
call.
42. Can I forward my
calls from Mac?
Yes! You can forward your
calls to either a landline or a mobile phone number.
40.How do I forward calls in
Mac?
Go to barablu > Preferences >
Call Forwarding. Enter the telephone number you would like to
forward your barablu calls to.
