Minimum System Requirement

To use barablu from a Pocket PC the minimum requirements is that the Pocket PC must have MS Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC or Windows Pocket PC 2003 as the operating system along with a High Speed Wireless Internet Connection over Wi-Fi.

Getting started

Login

Existing users

• Select the B icon
• This will take you to the login screen. Before you login please make sure that your Pocket PC is connected to Wi-Fi.
• Enter your username and password and select Login. You can also tick the Save login info box so that you don't need to enter your username and password the next time.
• Login successwill be displayed once you have logged in
• On successful login all your contacts will be displayed.

New users

If you were a new user you would need a username and password to be able to login to the dialler. To create a username and password:

• From the Menu select New User
• You will be re-directed to the registration form, where you can select your username and password. Successful completion of the form will generate your barablu number. Please make a note of this number. The details of your username, password and barablu number will also be sent to you by e-mail.
• Having selected your username and password return to the login screen and enter your username and password to login to the Dialler.
• Login successwill be displayed once you have logged in, press OK to continue.
• If you have forgotten your password, click on Menu and select Forgot PIN link. You will be asked to provide your email address; your username and password will be sent to this email address.

Contact list

Adding a New Contact

• To add a new contact, tap anywhere on the screen. The Menu will come up
• From the Menu select Add Contact
• You will be re-directed to another screen; here you will be able to add details such as First name, Last name, barablu username, home phone, Mobile phone, Work phone and email address. Select Add to save details. If you do not want to save the new contacts details press Cancel. This will take you back to your list of contacts.

Adding a new contact from the Global Directory

If any of your friends also use barablu then you can even search for them using the Global Directory.

• Tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the Menu.
• Select Search
• Select Global Directory and search for your friend by: name, language, barablu username, gender, age group, town or country. You can specify all or any one of the search criteria
• Depending on your search words, the results will be displayed. If there are no results that match the specified search criteria, you will get a message No Member Found from recent search. Select OK and this will take you back to the search page. You can try searching via a different method
• If the search has found results, you will be able to see a list of barablu users. You can add them straight away to your contact list by tapping on the contact to select it and then selecting Add. You will be asked to confirm, press Yesto add new contact or No to go back to the search page
• Select Reset to clear the screen and search for other contacts
• To return back to your Contact List, just close this screen

Editing a Contact

• Tap and select the contact that you wish to edit
• Bring up the Menu select View/Edit
• Edit the contact details
• Select OK once you have completed the edit
• You will be asked; Do you want to save any changes? click Yes to confirm or No to discard the changes
• Once completed you will be re-directed to your contact list

Deleting a Contact

To delete a contact from you list:

• Tap and select the contact you want to delete
• Bring up the Menu and select Delete
• Once you have selected delete you will be asked, Do you really want to delete this contact?select Yes to delete or No to cancel
• Your contact will be removed from your list immediately

Searching for a Contact

• To search for a contact, tap the screen to bring up the Menu and select Search. From here you can either search for a local contact by selecting Local Contact or you can search for all other barablu users in the world by selecting Global Directory. Your local contact will be someone who is already in your contact list.

To search for a local contact:

• From the tabs, select Search. From here you can specify and search in Local Contact or In Global Directory
• Alternatively you can tap the screen and from the Menu and go to Local Contactfrom Search
• This will take you to the search page, you can search by: first name, last name, home number, mobile number, work number or barablu Username
• If the search has found any results, it will be displayed on a new screen. Tap the screen, and from the Menu select List Allto go back to your Contact List
• If the search has not found any results, No contact found will be displayed. You can search again by changing your Search Criteria or you can select Contact tab to go back to your Contact List

To search for a contact using the Global Directory:

• You can search for members already on barablu by using the Global Directory as mentioned above under Adding a new contact from the Global Directory.

View profile

• To view the profile of any of your contacts listed in your contact list, tap and highlight the user to bring up the Menu and select View/Edit.From here you will be able to see the profile of the selected contact. You can also edit their contact details.

Making a call

Calling other barablu users

To call a barablu user who is already in your contacts list:

• Tap and select the contact who you wish to call
• The Menu will come up, from where you need to select Call
• If the person your are trying to call is not online then your call will be diverted to voicemail

Calling your contact on a regular phone

• To call a contact on his regular landline or mobile you need to have credit in your account, as this would involve using barablu Out
• Tap and select the contact whom you want to call from your contact list
• From the Menu select Choose Call No. This will display all the numbers that you have saved for that contact.
• Select the number on which you want to place the call. This can be any of the numbers you have saved. For e.g. your contacts home phone, mobile or work phone number
• The call will be connected to that number provided you have credit in your barablu Out account
• Press the hang-up or the button with the red phone to end the call
• Selecting the Contact tab will take you back to your list of contacts

Calling Non-barablu Users

• To call a regular landline or mobile number you need to use barablu Out.
• To call a number that is not on your contact list from the bottom tabsselect the Dialler.
• Please note if you have placed a call previously to a barablu user, then selecting the dialler might display previous call details. To bring up the dial pad, tap anywhere on the dialler screen and select View Dial Pad
• You can enter a regular landline or a mobile number
• Enter the number in the format <00> <country code> <area code> <number>. This format applies to local, national and international numbers.
• Press the Call buttonto make the call. To end the call select Hang-Up or the button with the red phone icon.

Receiving a call

Receiving a call from other barablu users

• When you receive a call from other barablu users, if the contact is saved in your phone book, their name will be displayed.
• To pick up the call press the Call or the button with the green phone icon,to reject the call press the hang-up or the button with the red phone icon
• If you are busy on another call, out of the Wi-Fi zone or are offline then all your incoming calls will be diverted to voicemail.

Receiving a call from Non- barablu Users

• To receive a call from a Non-barablu User on your barablu dialler you will need to obtain a my number, this will allow your contacts who are not on barablu to call you from a regular landline or mobile from anywhere in the world
• my numberis like a local number that your contacts can dial like a regular number and it will ring your dialler in barablu
• To pick up the call press the Call or the button with the green phone icon,to reject the call press the hang-up or the button with the red phone icon
• If you are busy on another call, out of the Wi-Fi zone or are offline then all your incoming calls will be diverted to voicemail
• Even while you are travelling abroad, you can just login to your dialler and receive all your calls with my number and avoid paying roaming charges
• You can even divert all your incoming calls to my number to a regular landline or mobile number by changing the diversion settings from your personal area on the website

Instant Messaging

• To begin instant messaging with your online barablu contacts, first highlight the contact with whom you want to chat. Then from the Menu select Chat
• This will take you to the chat screen. Begin typing your message in the space provided at the bottom. If you wish to send this text press the send chat icon on the right
• You are also able to chat with more than one contact at a time on another Pocket PC, mobile (Wi-Fi enabled) and PC
• To stop chatting with your contact, select the Contact tab. This will take you back to your contact list

Other options

• Log (Voicemails, Missed Calls, Offline Messages)
  To view the number of voicemails, the number of missed calls or the number of offline messages that you have received you need to select Log from the tab at the bottom.
• To listen to your Voicemail, highlight Voicemailand select the voicemail that you wish to hear
• To view the numbers whose calls you have missed, select Missed Calls
• To view all your offline messages, select Offline Messages
• You can also view the details of your outgoing and received calls over here

Log Out

• To log out from the dialler, select Log Out from the Menu.  This will take you to the login screen.
• To sign-out completely from the dialler, you need to select Exit from the Menu.You will be asked to confirm. Select Yes to log-out completely and close the barablu application running on your Pocket PC.

Uninstalling barablu

To uninstall the barablu application from your Pocket PC, sign-out completely from the dialler. Go to File Explorerand select the barablu application. Select Deletefrom the Menu. Confirm to delete the application by selecting Yes and the application will be deleted from your Pocket PC.
